Lemon Button Fern

The Lemon Button Fern is characterized by small, rounded to slightly triangular leaflets (pinnae) that grow along its delicate fronds. It is a popular dwarf variety of the Boston Fern, cherished for its compact size and neat, button-like foliage, making it perfect for terrariums, fairy gardens, and small pots. It gets its name from the faint citrusy scent some people notice when the fronds are handled.

Care:
Light:
Provide bright, indirect light. An east-facing window or a spot a few feet from a west or south-facing window is ideal. Direct sun will burn the leaves.
Water:
Keep the soil consistently moist but not soggy. Ferns do not like to dry out, so check the soil frequently and water when the surface begins to feel slightly dry.
Humidity:
This is crucial for ferns. They thrive in high humidity. To keep your fern happy and prevent crispy brown edges, you should mist it regularly, place it on a pebble tray, use a humidifier, or group it with other plants.
Temperature:
Average room temperatures between 65-75°F (18-24°C) are perfect.
Soil:
A rich, peat-based potting mix that retains moisture yet drains well is best.
