The Farm models range in height from 24 - 36 inches of grow space. The decks hold 12 pods each, and they connect to an app so they can bug you about needing food or water.
Once they start to mature You'll essentially be watering at least daily.
There are some ways to cut down on this...
Limit the number of pods you plant... the Farm decks hold 12 pods, but with peppers, for example, you might only put in one plant per deck.
Prune your plants... With a lot of gardens it's easy to be lazy about this, but removing "sucker" plants from each pod and removing leaves that aren't getting any light anyway can help to reduce the amount of water the plant needs and keep your plants healthy and producing more flowers/veggies, etc... Warning though, you should never prune more than a third of the plant at a time (give it a couple of weeks to recover).
Trim the roots... ok, ok, plant people are freaking out over this. Generally this is not a good thing, but keeping the roots trimmed can help to reduce the amount of water the plant takes in. Of course you have to be very careful not to trim too much or the plant won't get enough water. Like pruning, trimming more than a third of the roots can kill the plant. It's a good idea to be pretty careful and trim less than a quarter of the total root length at a time.
Farms are great for larger plants. The reservoir holds about 2 gallons of water, but as plants mature you'll still have to water almost daily. As with all models, feed the plants every two weeks with liquid plant food - 16mL at first and second feeding, then 24mL after that.
