Toxic:
The ASPCA states that False Aralia is non-toxic to humans, dogs, cats, and horses.
Care:
Light:
Gold Crest False Aralia thrives in bright, indirect light, meaning it needs a lot of light but not direct, intense sunlight. Direct sunlight can scorch the delicate leaves.
Water:
When watering, water thoroughly until it drains from the bottom of the pot. Allow the top inch or so of the soil to dry out between waterings, and water consistently. In summer, you might water weekly, while in winter, it might be bi-weekly.
Humidity:
Enjoys moderate to high humidity, around 50% relative humidity or above. You can increase humidity by misting the plant, placing it on a pebble tray, or using a humidifier.
Temperature:
Keep the plant warm year-round, ideally between 65 and 85 degrees Fahrenheit. Keep the plant away from cold drafts and drafts near heat or AC vents.
Soil:
Ensure the pot and soil have good drainage.
Pruning:
Pruning can encourage bushier growth.
