Dirt Bowl

Great for mixing in perlite and compost, or even just for easy access to soil. Also can be used to catch dirt when loosening root balls, etc. Stainless steel makes it easy to keep it clean, which should be done between pottings to prevent cross-contamination.

Tool Kit

It's great to have just the right tool for the job at your fingertips. This photo is actually a bonsai kit, but it definitely comes in handy for dwarf plants and pruning or training in general.

Liquid Plant Food

Then and now: the bottle on the left is ancient, found in a cabinet somewhere after probably 20 years. The bottle on the right is current. It also comes in a larger size. With the hydroponic gardens, more is not better. The gardens get fed every two weeks - 4mL for Sprouts, 8mL for Harvests, 12mL for Bounties, and 24 mL for Farms. Can also be used to feed houseplants and outdoor plants.

Perlite

When repotting a plant that prefers well-draining soil, perlite mixed with regular potting soil is an easy solution. Use more perlite with succulents and cacti, and otherwise a varying amount depending on the plant, environment, pot, etc. For leafy plants, about 10 - 20% perlite seems to be a good mix.
