Toxic:
Non-toxic: A great feature of the Peperomia genus is that its plants are non-toxic and considered safe for pets.
Care:
Light:
It thrives in bright, indirect light. Too much direct sun can scorch the leaves, while too little light may cause the red edges to fade. An east-facing window is often a perfect spot.
Water:
Allow the top 1-2 inches of the soil to dry out completely before watering again. Its succulent-like leaves store water, making it susceptible to root rot if it's overwatered. It's better to underwater than to overwater this plant.
Humidity:
It appreciates average to high household humidity but is generally adaptable.
Soil:
A chunky, well-draining potting mix is essential. A mix designed for succulents or a standard potting mix amended with perlite or orchid bark works well.
